Heartbeat’s therapeutic services for wounded warriors and their families provide innovative, evidence-based treatments. Licensed providers and certified professionals work with warriors to heal physical, mental, and psychological injuries. Heartbeat pays for all services.
Back in the Saddle Warriors is Heartbeat’s clinical and evidence-based Hippotherapy Riding Program which consists of Hippotherapy and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Providers include Occupational Therapists with Level 1 Hippotherapy training and a Clinical Psychologist who is also EGALA certified and a NARHA certified trainer.
We are excited to announce that BITS is expanding (Back In the Saddle Warriors, our Hippotherapy Riding Program).
Scuba Warriors is Heartbeat’s therapeutic scuba diving — a rehabilitative activity that has produced positive results for civilians and service members. The service’s scuba diving professionals have experience working with the wounded.
K9 Healing Warriors program helps with training for the Warriors and service dog team. Some of the training might include: turning lights off and on, waking Warriors from nightmares, accompanying the Warrior in public places, assisting in balance, assisting with prosthetic devices and performing calming behaviors to facilitate reorientation.
