Harbour Pointe Golf Club Hosts Wounded Warriors

Mukilteo’s Harbour Pointe Golf Club was the site of the Red, White & Blue Wounded Warriors Tournament for the 5th year in a row. Tournament Director, Ron Monaco, called it “amazingly successful raising more than $8500 in a one-day event.”

With the help of local military, Harbour Pointe presented a moving scene with Honor Guards manning the #9 green pin, flying Old Glory. WWII veteran, Lt. Col. (retired) Moir, was also in attendance, sharing his stories as a wounded guest in a German prisoner of war camp after his bomber was shot down. The 91 year old was something to see in his dress uniform, bright blue eyes, a magnificent crop of grey hair and as able looking as most any veteran today. He represented every veteran from the Greatest Generation well.

Although the field was filled mostly with Harbour Pointe Men’s and Women’s Club members, a few locals found their way into the tournament with the promise of returning next year, along with some friends. “All are welcome”, GM Caleb Krause said. “It’s first come, first serve.” The tournament, with its auction, invited guests and an enthusiastic giving attitude to help local wounded warriors throughout Snohomish County, made this a popular venue for an early morning 4th of July event.

All monies collected went to Heartbeat Serving Wounded Warriors. Local corporate sponsors included Karmichael Auto, North Creek Roofing, Degginger McIntosh Insurance, Carey Bros. Rockeries, Clay Enterprises and Express Construction.
