4th Degree Patriotic Quilt is Presented to Master Chief Petty Officer Peter Slempa Ret. of Chehalis, WA

Tuesday, March 30th
Our Lady of the Americas 4th Degree Assembly presented the Patriotic Quilt to Master Chief Petty Officer Peter Slempa.
The ceremony took place at the Chehalis Veterans Memorial Museum.

The Pacific NW UDT/SEAL Association strongly endorsed MCPO Peter Slempa, one of ther outstanding veterans, to receive the 4th Degree Patriotic Quilt.

Here are some of Master Chief Petty Officer Slempa’s achievements in his distinguished 30 years of military service;

Enlisted in the Navy in 1954 with hopes of becoming a Frogman.
Entered Basic Underwater Demolition School (BUDS) in 1957
Charter member of SEAL TEAM ONE in 1962
Served 6 tours in Vietnam
Wounded 3 times – 3 Purple Hearts
Team Commander of Navy Leap Frogs Parachute Demonstration Team
Ruptured both eardrums in a diving accident causing hearing disability
Chief Navy Recruiter in Portland, OR
Assistant Naval Science instructor at Brigham City High School in UT
Authored a book, “Why Me Lord ?” about his life in Seal Team One

Knights from Charles McLean Assembly in Kirkland and Holy Family Assembly in Chehalis formed the Honor Guard for MCPO Slempa (front, 3rd from left).
